BATMAN
This is a color sketch that went a tad to far. When I work in photoshop I tend to get carried away to the point where the sketch becomes dangerously close to being the final. Nothing wrong with that except this is a sketch for an OIL PAINTING. Again working digitally can become a crutch!! No worries. The painting will happen. I have to thank Joe Vaux for the genesis of this piece. Joe's amazing work has been making it's way through LA galleries for the last decade and he got me into a group show coming soon at the M Modern Gallery in Palm Springs. As odd as it may seem, the paintings of Adam West will be the main attraction while a handful of artists will be displaying work with a Gotham/Batman theme.
Stewie Sketch
I'm currently working at Family Guy as a storyboard artist. Recently the mothership ( FOX ) offered a few of us some extra buck's to do FG themed paintings for an exhibit coming soon in New York. I've been wanting to paint with actual PAINT for a while now so I jumped at it. Actually we can do the image in whatever medium we want but it's an excuse to PAINT again. I'm glad I began with these sketches first because frankly I'm out of practice with oil's. Working in photoshop becomes a real crutch, and if you haven't painted in a while it can be scary going back!! I'll post the finished piece when it's dry.

KRANG
Cato
I think most artist's who own cat's feel the urge to draw them. They're amazing creatures and sometimes they'll sit still for you. This guy is named Cato.....No....not after Kato Calin. How incredibly lame would that be?? I named him after Cato from the Pink Panther movies. His claws are like sabers and his tail is a tad longer than most cat's but he's a damn cool feline!

Shavo
Again with the post-it's!!! What can I say. They're handy, I go through about 200 a day while storyboarding, and they seem to be replacing my sketchbook. In fact lately I've been just pasting them IN my sketchbook. Whatever works right?! A while back I actually had NOTHING to do at work. So I took about an hour and a half and did this drawing of Shavo Odadjian. In case you're wondering "Who the hell is that?" He's the bass player for System of a Down. I had a photo of him from an old Revolver magazine. He has this great maniacal look to him that was begging to be drawn!
